Marco Rubio is campaigning today in Pennsylvania with Mitt Romney. His intro goes this way: there is only one man running for President of the US who will do this, do that, etc. Yes, Mitt Romney is the ONLY man running for President of the US who will turn back the clock by repealing Obamacare. That will make the US again the ONLY industrialized nation that permits millions of its citizens to be denied adequate healthcare because of cost.

Until Rick Santorum became a candidate for the GOP nomination for president in 2012, I only knew two things about him. In his book Herding Cats, former Senator Trent Lott praised Santorum as a friend and a good guy. Someone else, I don’t recall who, had described Santorum with an expletive deleted term.

Unlike Mitt, Rick stands by his principles; I admire that. Unlike Newt, Rick has  high personal  moral standards. However, when it comes to political standards, there are questions that require answers. Santorum had a close working relationship with convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Santorum brought a lot of pork projects home to Pennsylvania and then was soundly defeated in the election of 2006. Perhaps the voters of Pennsylvania know something that the rest of us don’t.

I do not want Santorum as my president or vice-president. I have listened to what he has to say, and I disagree with most of it.  If he wants to serve again, I would not object to him running for the House or Senate from Pennsylvania. Before making up my mind, I would require more information. I bought a book from Amazon.com that I thought might help, but it was only a collection of his speeches. No help there.
