Jack Sprat could eat no fat
His wife could eat no lean
And so between them
They licked the platter clean.

Jack Sprat was on food stamps and his wife was a member of the 1% and received generous farm subsidies. If you look at the two of them, it is obvious who receives what. Jack has a lean and hungry look, and his wife is overweight.

I like Chris Hayes on MSNBC. He is not afraid to call a spade a spade. It is so refreshing to hear a reporter report the facts. This evening he reported on the recently defeated farm bill that would have taken food stamps from 2 million of the poor and hungry, in part so that farm subsidies could be continued for wealthy farm owners, including some members of Congress.
