Figures don’t lie part 2

Figures don’t lie, but liars know how to figure. Using percentage changes on his whiteboard, Karl Rove was on FOX Business today demonstrating how a small absolute decrease in taxes is bigger than a large absolute decrease that is a smaller percentage. Use absolute numbers instead of percentages, Karl. For example, if I pay $2 in taxes and my taxes are reduced by 50%, I will save $1. On the other hand, if my taxes are $50,000 and are reduced by 10%, I will save $5000. $5000 is 5000 times the tax savings of $1. $5000 has 5000 times the purchasing power of $1. Let’s get real, Karl.
