Mohair

Mohair is manufactured from the wool of Angora goats. South Africa leads the world in the production of Angora wool followed by Texas. They’re number two. Goats are usually sheared twice a year, although some are sheared only once a year producing longer fibers. The wool of young goats is used to produce the softest products while the wool of old goats is coarser and used to make rugs. The male goat is the “mo” and the female goat is the “ma.”
