Starting tomorrow, the Trump administration will start pushing tax reform. Having failed to deliver Obamacare repeal to satisfy Trump voters or infrastructure spending to provide jobs, Trump will now try to satisfy key backers by enacting “tax reform.” The billionaires in Trump’s cabinet and among his supporters aren’t interested in real tax reform. They want changes in the tax laws that will benefit them and large corporations, such as lower rates and the elimination of the estate (death) tax. Funding for the IRS will be reduced so that cheating will be easier.
If Trump fails to deliver on tax reform, he will be toast. He will be replaced by Mike Pence who will then try to deliver what the billionaires want. Instead of the Vietnam War era slogan of “Give peace a chance,” we will be asked to give Pence a chance.
