Gish Gallop

The Gish gallop is a debate technique (also known as spreading) where the debater tells as many lies and half-truths as quickly as possible to overwhelm his/her debate opponent. The Gish gallop is named after Duane T. Gish, the creationist author of Evolution: The Challenge of the Fossil Record. Mitt Romney used the Gish gallop technique successfully in his first debate with President Obama in 2012. However, Obama was ready for him in debates two and three.
