Disaster capitalism

Disaster capitalism is a disaster, a disaster for workers in the US. Whenever a disaster occurs in the US, caused by weather or other events, look for the GOP to use it as an excuse to suspend laws that protect the environment and/or workers rights. Recently, Jeff Flake, US Senator from Arizona, proposed suspending the Davis-Bacon Act when we start rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure. He claims that suspending Davis-Bacon will lower the cost by negating the requirement to pay prevailing wages to the workers doing the rebuilding of our decaying infrastructure. Davis-Bacon was passed in 1931 under Herbert Hoover and has been amended several times.
