News conference

Yesterday’s Trump news conference began with Sean Spicer, Mike Pence and then Donald Trump denying that Trump had gotten caught with his small hands in a cookie jar. Then the news conference went downhill from there. It hit its nadir with Trump attacking CNN as a phony news source and ignoring a question from CNN reporter Jim Acosta.

I doubt that Trump will conduct many news conferences in the future. However, when he or one of his minions should mistreat a reporter or a news organization, there is strength in unity. Rather than permit one of their members to be mistreated, all legitimate news organizations should as a man or woman stand and walk out of the room on live television. That would leave only FOX and Breitbart in the room. This action would be a service to the nation, since the media would stop repeating Trump’s lies.
