Golden Ages

The first recorded Golden Age was between 480 and 404 BC in Athens, Greece. Pericles led Athens from 445 to 429 BC. The Golden Age ended when Athens was defeated by rival Sparta.

A more recent Golden Age of relative peace and prosperity was the Presidency of Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001. Clinton’s Presidency shines brighter because of the darkness of the two Bush regimes that preceded and followed his term in office. Republicans harassed both Clinton and his wife during the entire eight years of his term.

The Presidency of Barack Obama will be regarded as another Golden Age by future generations. It too shines more brightly because of the darkness preceding and to follow. The Obama Presidency would shine even brighter without the obstruction of Republicans.
