In 1950, about 1/3 of Federal revenue came from corporate income taxes and only 10% came from regressive payroll taxes. Now in 2016, that is reversed. 10% of Federal revenue comes from corporate income taxes and about 1/3 from regressive payroll taxes. The poor may not pay income taxes, but they do pay payroll taxes. And corporations are clamoring for lower income taxes so that they can create more jobs. The true job creators, consumers, cannot afford to purchase American made goods and services and part of the reason is that they are burdened by regressive payroll taxes.
