Herman Wouk is best known for his book, The Caine Mutiny. He also wrote a history of WW2 in two or four volumes, depending upon the edition, entitled The Winds of War and War and Remembrance. Wouk’s two or four volume history of the war totals about 2000 pages. You could consider it the short form because Churchill’s six volume history runs about 3000 pages. Wouk is an excellent writer and brings the war to life (and death). I have only 400 pages to go in the final book and I am enjoying the story very much. I am looking forward to finding out who won.
