I just received this in a fund-raiser from Michele Bachmann:

“Just hours ago, press reports broke the news that a self-identified Occupy Wall Street supporter and “community activist” will challenge me for reelection to Congress. Announcing her candidacy, my opponent claimed she was inspired to challenge me by Occupy Wall Street.Do you really need to know any more? “

No, I don’t need to know any more; I’m ready to support Michele’s opponent as soon as I discover who it is. Anyone inspired by OWS has my support against Michele.

Bridge to somewhere

The lift bridge in Stillwater

Everyone is against pork projects in someone else’s district, but in their own district, it’s not pork; it’s a bridge to somewhere, darn the cost.

”Lawmakers approved legislation for a new bridge over the St. Croix River, now it’s headed for President Obama’s desk.

He’s expected to approve the new four-lane span, connecting Oak Park Heights and St. Joseph, Wisconsin.

It will replace the old Stillwater Lift Bridge.

Thursday, Congress finalized its approval of the $700 million bridge project.

Critics argued that it’s too expensive, and will hurt the environment.

Supporters say it will bring an economic boost to the area, and ease congestion.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann was the House sponsor on the bridge and said when this project was finally pushed through, it was “absolute elation.”

“It was a thrill,” she said. “It was nip and tuck all the way through.””

I would like to know how much time this new bridge will save the Michele Bachmann family on their travel to and from the family farm in Wisconsin, the family farm that has received tens of thousands of dollars of Federal crop subsidies that Michele claims were never part of her income.

Iowa polls

What do the GOP Iowa polls mean with leading candidates rising and falling rapidly? As far as indicating a winner, they mean little. The voters are telling us that they are undecided. “None of the above” would probably win if that choice were available in the caucuses. As Barack Obama demonstrated in 2008, organization in Iowa is very important. Ron Paul has the best organization in Iowa with very committed volunteers. He is the likely winner.
